The Duorum estate, started in 2007 and named after the two men, old friends, people who established the winery, Maria Soares Franco – who was for many years in charge of the iconic Douro wine Barca Velho – and Joao Portugal Ramos. The wines are also a blend of two altitudes, and from two different vineyard parcels. The name Tons means “tones of” or “hues of”.
