Tons de Duorum Branco Douro

Tons de Duorum Branco Douro

Story of the wine:
Most white grapes grown in the upper Douro valley, until the 1980s were used for Port. Since the 1990s there has been a revolution in the valley and many great red and white non fortified wines are being produced. The Viosinho and Rabigato grapes are particular to the Douro valley and make high quality wine. The Duorum estate, started in 2007 and named after the two men, old friends, people who established the winery, Maria Soares Franco – who was for many years in charge of the iconic Douro wine Barca Velha – and Joao Portugal Ramos. The wines are also a blend of two altitudes, and from two different vineyard parcels. The name Tons means “tones of” or “hues of”.
